2009 Jensen Beach High School Band and Guard Accomplishments
* 27th Annual Treasure Coast Crown Jewel Marching Festival – Vero Beach, FL:
- Superior Auxiliary, Superior Drum Major, Superior Percussion, Superior Band, Best in Class Drum Major (Silver Class), Best in Class Percussion (Silver Class), Best in Class General Effect (Emerald Division), Best in Class Percussion (Emerald Division), Best in Class – 1st Runner Up (Silver Class), Finalist Award, Gordon H. Popple Memorial Award (Grand Champion Runner-Up).
* University Classic Marching Invitational – Orlando, FL:
-Outstanding Music (Class AA), Outstanding General Effect (Class AA), Outstanding Visual (Class AA), Outstanding Percussion (Class AA), Superior Rating Award, Class AA Grand Champion.
* Martin County Veteran’s Day Parade:
- Best Band rating and trophy.
* FBA Solo and Ensemble Festivals:
- Over 75% of the band program participated in the District Solo and Ensemble Festival, earning Superior ratings. Several students went on to participate in the State Solo and Ensemble Festival, also earning multiple Superior ratings.
* 2009 Disney Honors National Concert Band Invitational:
-Jensen Beach High School was one of six high school band programs from the United States to be invited to perform in the festival. Students were awarded a participation trophy at this non-competitive event and experienced a formal presentation of the award at the Disney Honors Celebration Gala, held in Epcot.
* Florida Bandmaster Association Music Festivals:
- District Marching Band Festival – STRAIGHT Superior Ratings
- District Jazz Band Festival - STRAIGHT Superior Ratings
- District Concert Band Festival - STRAIGHT Superior Ratings – Robert O. Lampi Memorial Award
- State Jazz Band Festival - STRAIGHT Superior Ratings
- State Concert Band Festival - STRAIGHT Superior Ratings
- Having consistently received STRAIGHT Superior ratings throughout the year, the JBHS Band Program earned the extremely prestigious Otto J. Kraushaar Award from the Florida Bandmaster’s Association.
- This is the first Kraushaar award earned by JBHS and the only one awarded in Martin County this year.
